Magic is existent in all creatures, some more than others. The amount of magic present within a being determines it's affect on their life and abilities. The average Human is completely unaffected by the influence of magic within them, while Dragons can create flames with no effort at all.
Magic is something that one is born with. Someone who has almost no magical influence and no ability to utilize magic can never do so no matter how hard they try. With the exception of Elves, for Humans it is not genetics that determines one's magical ability or lack thereof.
While Demons and Dragons have a natural ability to wield magic, Humans are not so lucky. When a Human is born with more magical influence than most, they must learn to cast spells. However, most do not and suffer ill affects because the backup of energy. This ranges from headaches to severe illness. A very few rare cases exist in which a Human has a natural ability to use magic without any sort of training. It is still difficult for them to learn, resulting in difficulty in controlling the amount of power put into the affect of the magic or in even controlling when and where they use their magic.
Humans and Dragons can cast magic from a wide range of areas, while Demons are more specialized. Humans can learn from most areas, while Dragons can learn everything though they have their favorites.
